Belinda is a Human Movements graduate of the University of Queensland with Masters and Doctorate degrees in Health Promotion from the University of Wollongong. She has worked intensively with non-sporting populations, specifically women at midlife and school children. Following her interests in chronic disease management and preventative health, Belinda has undertaken additional training in Cognitive Behaviour Techniques; these she employs individually and in collaboration with other allied health professionals to support patients in active lifestyle adoption and weight loss.
In 30 years of practice, Belinda has worked with Prof John Edmonds (St George Hospital) in resistance exercise for arthritis patients, the late Prof Charles Bridges-Webb at RACGP NSW faculty in the area of Dementia and Carer Health and A/Prof Suzanne Mackenzie in doctors’ health and General Practitioners’ physical activity. Belinda continues a 10 year relationship with Cancer Council (NSW) delivering their ENRICH health promotion program for Cancer Survivors. Her extensive experience in private practice has included advising clients with Bipolar disorders, osteoporosis, Grave’s Disease, Polycystic ovarian and metabolic syndromes, diabetes and cardiovascular disease. She is herself a former under 15 representative netballer, a social swimmer, yoga participant and devoted bicycle tourist training on-line to prepare for epic mountain stages.
